I brought her home a week ago today, and she is amazing.
She will be 3 on the 29th of this month.
Her name is Sousa, and she's an American Staffordshire Terrier...
There are 2 strains of the pitbull, and she is the larger of them.
But she's a little girl for her breed.
Her personality makes up for her size.
And I couldn't be happier.
Seriously.
I'll definitely post some pictures soon, I've just been to busy this past week to get any that aren't on my phone.

I'm basically a neglectful blog parent...
I just haven't felt like saying much of anything the last few months.
I've been trying to hide away from contact of all sorts.
I might be done now, but no promises.

I'm getting a new dog friend very soon... adopting from MARS, they've been wonderful and I'm fully approved as of yesterday. I'll start meeting dogs probably next week. STOKED!
Dealt with a whole lot of fuckery concerning my student loans and such.
Got in touch with someone I haven't talked to in years, and I'm glad I did.
I finally am feeling like my life is falling into place and that things are gradually improving.
Saw my bestie for a week, which was amazing. OBVIOUSLY.
I'm slowly starting to get working on my sleeve, and could not be more pleased about it.
Foxy and Storm are basically BFF now.
Rediscovering some of my favorite books, again.
Work has been fantastic... aside from the occasional assbags.

There is much more that I could say, but in the favor of discretion I will keep my mouth shut.

Zombie dreams...

Last night I had the craziest dream that there was a zombie apocalypse... and can I just say- it was a seriously convincing dream. It started out and was fun for a while, and then I wont even lie and say the typical "no, it wasnt scary, it was just a dream" bullshit, about halfway through the dream I became almost convinced that it was actually happening and it became pretty terrifying.
Mind you, I love some undead scary shit as much as the next person, but I come to find that when I am almost certain that its the real deal, it becomes considerably less fun. I eventually woke up in a wicked cold sweat, and had a terrible time sleeping the rest of the night (if we are being brutally honest here...)
And now tonight I cant sleep yet again and I find myself wondering if I might wake up again with my heart pounding so hard that I can hear it.
I always thought a zombie infestation would be interesting, but now I might just be starting to rethink my point of view on that one.

Either way, I definitely need more high powered firearms just in case of an emergency...

Hahaha... ridiculous.

And one more little tip- dont eat copious amounts of dairy before falling into a sleep coma, it will give you some fucked dreams. Or maybe thats just me...

I apologize for being so neglectful as of late.

I have been busy and I could make excuses, but I wont.

Truth be told, Ive just been slacking.

Im sorry I can be terrible at keeping up with things sometimes.

New job, trips out of town, seeing friends, and general laziness are all to blame.

But hey- I fucking LOVE my new job.

I feel like all of the passion I had for my career has come back in full force.

I dont wake up and dread going to work anymore, which I must say is truly a big fucking deal.

Im so glad that I didnt settle for just any old job, and I that I worked my ass off to get this one.

Im glad that I passed up multiple other offers, and that I struggled financially in order to be able to take the job I have now.

It was SO hard for those short months that I was unemployed, but now that I am back in the saddle (so to speak) I dont think that I could be much more pleased.

Also, the next few weeks are going to be terribly busy for me, as I have multiple friends coming to town, people / family coming to stay with me (possibly), and some other fun plans that are all happening quite fast.

As a generalization though, I must say that for the most part right now life is pretty good.

Next post will be things that have been inspiring to me lately!

Farewell lovely blue hair...

I loved you long time.

But as with all good things, it had to end some time.

Because well, you were totally and completely destroying my hair... not you specifically, but me and bleach with 40 volume every 4 to 6 weeks.

(What- my hair grows fucking fast.)

...And I was definitely ready for a change anyway.

Now I find myself sporting a "blowout", ie: brighter red at the roots gradually turning to black.
How do I feel?

I guess I like it, but I wish it was brighter.

I am a total fool for bright hair.

So last night I went to a late night showing of Jennifer's Body...

And let me just say-

Oh Megan Fox, you were pretty fantastic as a demonic high school girl.

For real.

This movie was what I feel is the best of both worlds.

Funny, dark, violent and real.

Funny for a lot of the verbal content... think Mean Girls but raunchier.

Dark for the overall concept... high school hotass that seduces boys and eats them.

Violent for some of the visual content (I could have done with more of this, but thats my main "complaint")... please see above.

Real for how the characters interact and act in general... they come off very high school, or maybe that was just my high school experience.

Bonus- you watch around 30 seconds of Fox and Seyfried making out.

Bummer- previews mislead you into thinking there is lots of T&A. This is wrong.

Overall was it worth it?

INDEED!

If you have seen previews and this looks like something you might want to watch, I say do it.

I'm glad that I did.

Why?

I was fully entertained.

Liked the whole concept.

A slight twist at the end.

Very quoteable.

I got a flat tire last week, and I just got it fixed today (ran and did it during work) and I must say, now I really really wish I hadn't driven over a fucking roofing nail.

Because guess what...

Due to the fact that my tire was in the condition it was, it couldnt be repaired.

I had to buy a new tire and have all of mine rotated and shit to match.

Ok so you want to know about tattoos...

I FUCKING LOVE MY TATTOOS.

And I have plans to begin another sleeve and finish off a chest piece, along with a lower leg by the end of the year. Im so excited. I love being a busy girl.

Some people have asked me recently how I deal with tattoo stuff in general, so here are my best suggestions. Perhaps this will help, though take it with a grain of salt and figure out the best way for yourself.

Enjoy!

Part One Of My How To Guide...

What to expect with this experience...

-Cleanliness on the tattoo artist/ shops part. If its gross, leave.

-Discomfort of some sort, certain areas are more sensitive.

-Adrenaline.

-Blood.

-To sit still for some period of time.

-You can generally ask for a break if you need one.

Do's...

-Do ask any questions and voice concerns you might have before the tattoo process begins so that you dont regret not doing so. Also, after if you have concerns- ASK!

-Do follow all of your tattoo artists aftercare instructions... really.

-Go to the bathroom before you start.

-Do wear sunscreen on your tattoos to prevent fading and overall bad news.

-Do eat beforehand, so as to avoid feeling lightheaded or any other unpleasant things.

-Wear clothes that accommodate the area if possible, its just more comfortable.

-Leave a nice tip.

Do Not's...

-Do not Psych yourself up thinking "ohmygod this is going to hurt" because it so isnt as bad as you think it will be, and more often than not you end making it worse for yourself by having such a mentality.

-Do not think its a good plan to be intoxicated. Its not.

-Do not think you know how to care for a tattoo better than your tattoo artist... after all, its kind of their job. And its doubtful that they would tell you one thing and suggest you do something else.

-DO NOT FUCKING PICK AT IT!

(I am a picker by nature, and its hard for me, but I refrain.)

My personal preferences (but all suggested by my artists)...

-Wash tattoo the night of, but make sure you wear something grubby/ black to cover it while you sleep (if possible) to avoid ink leakage on to bedding and nice clothing.

-Wash in warm shower/ bath with dial soap and a wash cloth, cleaning until the tattoo is no longer "greasy" looking.

-Only begin applying lotion after 3 days, and only about 3x a day, and after a thorough washing.
